Preheat oil to 350° or preheat mini donut maker. Grease donut maker with oil or shortening.
In a small, flat dish mix sugar, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and ginger. Set aside.
Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth. Set aside.
Whisk oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract together until well combined.
In a separate bowl, sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg together. Whisk lightly to combine.
Gently stir wet ingredients into flour mixture scraping down sides until just combined
Add dough to a piping bag and cut the tip around a half inch from the tip. Pipe dough into wells of donut maker or directly into hot oil. Do not overcrowd pan or oil may overflow. Fry, turning once, for 3 minutes or until golden. Drain on paper towels.
Dip donuts into glaze. Allow excess to roll off. Toss donuts into cinnamon sugar. Serve.
